Comments: I think this is an appalling development. I can't believe that real climbers either through ignorance or arrogance would endeavor to diminish the proud tradition of fierce ascents in Escalante. Chuck would eat them for breakfast were he to encounter them. They need to take a good hard look in the mirror and become educated as to the history of the area. There are plenty of obscure choss piles that the weak of head and heart can drag down to there level.

Comments: According to the Adventure Film folks the search has only been suspended for bad weather. At least the American lads will go back up to continue. Slim hopes for a happy outcome but they mean to bring our brothers home. Jonny learned to walk in Tibet. It is powerfully poignant that Jonnys last steps were in the same country that his first were.

Comments: Fairly sure I led this nice climb in the later '70s. No idea if it was a FA or not but the conditions I saw were exactly as MossMan described, cobwebs and grapple.

Actually I amazingly remember that day. There were several cameras that day so there should be other shots out there. I also think I recognize myself in the tree climbing shot. But I know I recognize you in it.
