Comments: After climbing down at the notch below Far Downs, (I have seen a short length of rope fixed there, but not currently) go left and up a little steep hill to a saddle. The route will be downhill 50' or so on your right (north). I think. The route we climbed the other day had a new good bolt at the bottom (crux, soft .9?...then .7 to the top), then followed a line of Leepers and 1/4" buttonheads to a slung spike summit, which is slightly lower than the actual top, which blocks the view towa... more >>

Comments: Did the 1st pitch yesterday before getting blown off (convenient excuse). Have climbed this route quite a bit over the years, and would agree with moving right after P1 at a kind of inobvious spot, above the corner just climbed. It's possible with a 60m to belay from a good ledge 20' above the tree on the ledge, which would be above the right traverse to P2 and below a couple of 5.9 roof cracks. The blue line in the photo above is correct.

Comments: Oooops. Heard about HG on SuperTopo and gave "Stich" what, in retrospect, after I thought about it, was a poor approach description. Basically referenced Old Stage Road. In total agreement with the published approach philosophy.
Thinking I should get up there Sunday, just for old times' sake and because it's so good for so close to home. Hope I can remember the way.
