Comments: Good work!

I always dreamed about this problem, but a HUGE boulder used to make it completely unclimbable. However, during the crazy Duluth flooding, the boulder somehow either exploded or made its way to Superior.

I remember the sit start being super crazy sharp and hard.

Just an FYI, the section labeled the Sanctuary here is not the "actual" sanctuary. The Confederate Wall and the Rock Bridge make up the "real" Sanctuary. The others boulders are on the next river over. Cleaning this up on... more >>

Comments: I got this one today. One of my most satisfactory sends in my life. "Escaping the Habit of Living" is what I will call it. I think v8 would be a good label for now. but, i have no idea. Amazing route.

Comments: This is a classic duluth route. It is confusing to me why this doesn't get climbed more. It is unlike anything else in town. It took me around 50 tries over two days. In my opinion, a lot harder than the v4 original rating. I found the kneebar beta right away, but the move to the lip was still very hard for me. I'm only 5'6'' so maybe this has something to do with it. However I found it pretty difficult even after "the move" into the top out. A must do.

Comments: In my opinion, this thing has no "hard" moves in it. Yes, pulling the intial bulge is kind of tricky, but I didn't think it was v4. The middle section would be consider 5.9 in my opinion, and the top is not nearly as bad as what I was expecting. Before I got on this route, I was terrified of freaking out at the top. It took me a long time to even try it. I found holds wherever I wanted them at the top. I'm know I'm against the majority, but I'm not a huge fan of the route. sorry!

Comments: Both of these bolted routes on this wall are very fun. Very well bolted as well. I felt like some of the flakes on this one at the very start seemed on the verge of busting off.

Comments: I had a hard time finding the anchor for this route. I don't know if I'm just too much of a sport climber, but the anchors are off to the left after you get onto the ledge after the "roof."

Comments: Very awesome route. Unique holds for Duluth. If this gets more traffic (and the top cleans off a little), it will become a classic.

Comments: Not to go against the grain, but I have different opinions on this route. Yes, it is fun. However, I'm not a huge fan. I personally don't think it is anywhere close to v4.

Comments: I'm totally guessing at the grade. it took me a lot of work though. and by a lot, i mean obsessive. i would go out just to climb this some days until my fingers were bleeding, then tape up and go till i couldn't see anymore.

I really like the route... it is super crimpy and super technique related. It's basically the definition of my style, so I don't think others like it as much as me. If you ever want to come up here nic, I will show you some of the hard projects in duluth.

Comments: i don't know when you climbed this, but I know several people got this last fall. Other routes that have been climbed are the obvious cracks on the far left side of the amphitheater. Also, a fun slopey problem is almost in the middle of the amphitheater. It starts on a large block, and is very hard to place pads.. we had a couple on the block and a couple down below.
