Comments: "The team in charge" would rather respect the history of the route.

Climb the crack however you want.

However, if you want to climb the .11d named Dazed and Refused as established by Pedersen and Dahneke, then you'll need to artificially avoid the eliminates.

In antediluvian Rock Canyon a number of routes were established with rules to make the routes harder. This was done in those days because the climbers were looking to push themselves into harder grades that the local rock didn't... more >>

Comments: @Melissa: Darren Knezek at Mountainworks in Provo can give you specifics; however, I'm pretty sure the extension hasn't yet been sent. I gave it a run once and it was 5.really-hard. Darren has worked on it a few times.

The direct line was put up by Darren; I sent it to the first anchors at what I thought was probably .11c or d; that could change as more stuff falls off.

Comments: This is in the latest Goss guide at .11b (so I gave it the correct name and changed the entry's rating from 12-). I did it and .11b seems about right.

Also, the line to the left (House of Cards, .12a) doesn't share the start.

Comments: In this case "unfinished" means that the lines are bolted but not yet fully cleaned. Might be dangerous to climb.

Comments: The towers on the north side are all in the Lone Peak Wilderness area, so it's unlikely that there are any routes, and even more unlikely that there ever will be.

Comments: The green line in the photo is the standard path (and yes, some moron chopped the bolts and the attached fixed line along that path a few years ago).

It's possible to bushwhack up the north (left side) but it's probably equally difficult and less pleasant.

Comments: (Cue evil chuckle from Darren...)

It really is right around .10a, but the key hold isn't immediately obvious from below and the crux is fairly sequential for a .10a.

(I didn't onsight it, which for me is unusual at this grade. I'm sure once it's all chalked up it'll be a bit more obvious.)

Comments: I climbed this sans flake (see here) and the difficulty was pretty much the same. There are a couple of pockets and sidepulls where the flake used to be.
