Comments: To the right of Harapaan civilization and Over My Head. There is a few comments/details about it under "Campus Problem".

Basically you do a sit-start into decent holds under the roof. Then you have to undercling this small "bulb" (like a half sphere protruding slightly from the rock) probably can't match on it but i'm not sure.

Then you reach out slightly past the lip to a 2-3 finger pocket that should be fairly obvious.

Then do some trickery for the send.

:)

Comments: The smoot /ˈsmuːt/ is a nonstandard unit of length created as part of an MIT fraternity prank. It is named after Oliver R. Smoot, a fraternity pledge to Lambda Chi Alpha, who in October 1958 lay on the Harvard Bridge (between Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts), and was used by his fraternity brothers to measure the length of the bridge

Shamelessly copied from Wikipedia. :)

Also why is this marked as "Grade V"?

Comments: I actually didn't know about the ownership, it would be great if someone contacted the UW Board of Regents to check their stance on climbing in the area.

A number of years ago my climbing partner John and I asked the farmer for permission and he did give us access to the bottom of the cliffs, however I would ask again, that was 6 years ago according to the thread :)

Comments: I hate to say but for the most part this shouldn't be posted on mountain project. All State Natural Areas are closed to climbing except in a couple special cases such as the east bluff of Devil's Lake.

While there are other natural areas such as High Cliff that are climbed on, they have historically been climbed on before being declared a state natural area.

Also you mention private land at the bottom of the cliffs which makes the situation a lot more sketchy.

I would try to keep this low-ke... more >>

Comments: Back a few years ago when I was doing Slope of D my foot slipped and the fingers on my right hand decided to stay behind in the pocket during the fall. First and only finger related injury, I was out for a few months.

Comments: Found a few more good looking ones.

Big Money Project: www.mountainproject.com/v/big-money-project/106913415

Jack Backwards still needs a ropeless ascent in the same area as Big Money: www.mountainproject.com/v/jack-bawkwards/106486441

On South Shore, Bald Arete Project: www.mountainproject.com/v/bald-arete-project/107599211

To be honest I can't find much else that really stands out. Soooooo many of the old projects have been climbed over the last couple years.

Comments: Careful if you go up to this boulder. There is a bee hive in the ground underneath the very left hand line.

Boulder is about 65% clean, the upper 1/3rd definitely needs some more work, but will require a rope to clean. Lots of good lines on this thing and overhanging. Highly recommended.
