Stephen Roth soloing Apollo Reed - 6/24/16. Photo: Jeremy Fox  Summersville Lake before 6/23/16 and on 6/24/16. Historic flooding...  Kevin Umbel digging into the Corner Pocket (13a) at First Buttress in the Meadow River Gorge, WV. Also in the pic is Anthony Love climbing on Black Crack (12c), a seldom repeated trad climb first freed, onsite, by Peter Croft in 97; Doug Reed had the route cleaned up and ready to go, but a sneaky local told Peter it was no biggie, only to back peddle after the send, suggesting to Peter that he "leave the area, post haste"! Although Black Crack is now afloat in a sea of bolts and fixed draws, it's still a proud tick for the area and by reputation, a bit harder than the neighboring 5.13 sport rigs.  Hank Jones scoping lines on the Vamp and the Fortress from the summit of Blue Gateway Peak to the south. The summit of Bastion is obscured by clouds.  Southeast aspect of Bastion of Darkness, showing the Vampire Spire and the Fortress: Image was taken from the east on the Sundial.
