Comments: The traverse into the crack was definitely exciting. A #5 was necessary for the wide section, and you can definitely lieback and/or climb plenty of face features without needing any offwitdth technique.

p3 (or p2 if you link 1 & 2, which you can easily do with a 70) sucked up three small nuts, and we used doubles from #00-#1, 1 #1 and a small offset nut was useful too. Roof move felt burly to me!

The tatty slings on top leave much to be desired for rappel. There's a 'bi... more >>

Comments: Two slings and a rap ring are currently at the top of P1 in case you don't want to do all three pitches. They look to be in pretty decent shape and are slung around a chockstone

Comments: You definitely need an 80 meter rope or two single to rap. A 70 does not make it... Tricky crux. I stayed in the crack and fell before realizing that I needed to reach out left!

Comments: What a great route!

The bottom part of p1 is still wet and seeping as of 1st August. No big deal though, plenty of other dry spots to use, just be careful where you put your feet!

Super fun climb, really diverse. The 5.9 with some hands and lie backing, P2 the splitter fingers money pitch (yellow and blue metolius/master cams super useful!) and P3 was fun with a chimney and a right leaning crack/flake to a short splitter hand crack at the top.

Comments: Keep your feet low on the traverse and its not so bad... Here's how we climbed it.

P1: ends with a nice, new looking bolted anchor w rap rings on a ledge.

P2: suggest a #4 C4 for the move into the weird pinnacle in the pod at the top. move left to the dihedral to build the anchor. There's a nice ledge to stand on over there.

P3: goes up the dihedral then heads right over the pillar. There is a pretty decent piece of webbing tied around the top of the pillar you can clip to before you do... more >>

Comments: A key hold has broken between bolts 3 and 4. It was lying on the ground at the base of the route. Instead of being a nice flake/jug and then a crucial foot, its a thin edge/pocket big enough for only the first digit of two (or 3 small) fingers. Climbed like .11d for me (I'm 5'6" with a +2" index) but like .11c to my tall boyfriend.

Comments: Bugs are still bad! Climbed at the Potato Patch on 6/30/12 for only a few hours in the morning. Temps were perfect but I got eaten alive. The mosquitos could get through thin long sleeves, but not the no-see-ums. The no-see-ums got me before I put the long sleeves on and 3 days later I was covered in bumps that itched like crazy. Otherwise we had a great time! And there is no tree blocking the road...
