Comments: There was a fixed pin at 3/4 height, that I removed during a fall. It was unnecessary. If the name or grade is wrong let me know.

Comments: Great Route. I always thought it was called 'karen's route'. Also, good little story, burlap was out there with a buddy and the buddy had just led the route was up at the anchors and took the fall. I think he ended up about 10' above the ground, very shaken. Maybe a 40+ footer. Walked away and climbed more later in the day.

Comments: Gary Hunter was our guidance counsler at West in those days. I actually saw him out walking there last year. Joe was a year younger, Bonner. Ha. I'm not sure how much development he actually spearheaded.

Comments: So I built a house in Durham earlier this year and even though I went to school and have always lived in the area I started to explore off of Dame Rd. There is certaintly smaller boulder potential and a couple of 15' mini crags, but out on durham point somewhere I know there is a motherlode waiting. My wife and I are buying a place in new market in 2 weeks and plan on exploring some more. Has anyone looked out on the trails off of Dame Rd?

Comments: Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't george clean and maybe add a bolt to the unicorn corner for a .9 crack pitch? Liger? Pretty good climbing.

Comments: Weird, someone removed all of their comments and it looks like I was talking to myself. Ryan, I guess you were responding to me. Central Couloir is all of the way left and shoestring is all of the way right on Mt. Webster. The route I mentioned ascends the left hand margin of the large buress that splits greens casm and the final pitch(s) of Central. WI4 M4, Haven't seen it come in since that winter. I left an anchor on the top of it's second pitch, well to the right of the second pitch. ... more >>

Comments: I agree Sneoh, I was just thinking about this route for some reason and I also powered out the right side/center of the roof and clipped after (no long sling) and thought it a little tough and heady.

Comments: Is that the 'belfry' beneath it? I think I remember walking over there. I also remember a cool mixed stemming corner and I never could find the raptor roof, which sounds cool.

Comments: So I was just gonna bag on this area a little bit as I have spent a few days here and there over the years. Then I noticed that I started the area. At this point I only remember a good .12a (bolts) with one hard move way right. A good (best at the crag).9+/.10d around the corner to right of this that goes up a great crack/crease feature. And a .10- one move wonder roof crack problem kinda on the left hand side of the right most cliff. Maybe climbed a total of a dozen routes and nothing stic... more >>
