Comments: great route!!! crux pitch is phenomenal, as well as the two that follow. i believed everyone had its unique points and was almost equal in quality. no hesitation on my part to give this route the full 4 stars. as for the crux pitch, its really not all that bad. its stemming and face climbing to stances. good stems, then locker fingers. i would be hesitant to give this pitch 12a. none the less, great pitch.

Comments: my $.02. my best beta for the route (gear wise) is to take a number 5 camalot. if taken, it is used and every pitch and is great to have. it is also a great way to protect the akward 5.8+ first pitch, which i have personally seen spit of a solid 5.12 climber.

Comments: This route was a sandbox when I was on it! A potentially decent route, ruined by sand, made this thing a scary hell. Not recommended if it hasnt been climbed in a while, hell, not really at all. Better routes on the wall for sure.

Comments: i dunno, small hands kinda suck on this thing. i dont really have any trouble on a majority of 5.11s, but i was panting on this thing. i think 11- is sandbagging, the roof is harder than other 11-s of the same style (think pink comes to mind.) then you got all of the other climbing that sandwiches it. granted ive climbed other harder 11s, but i think solid 11 is fair, and possibly 11+? i really dont know, nor do i really care. the route is freaking superb.

Comments: 1.5 inch would be a .75 camalot, 1 inch would be a .5, 2.5 inch would be a 2 camalot, and so on. its important to realize this when reading blooms book.

Comments: i have a lot of respect for dean, but i believe that this was a bad move. it gives climbers a bad rap, by disrespecting rules set forth, irrelevant whether we agree with them or not. but shit, id do it too if i had the chance (i just wouldn't publicize it everywhere.)

Comments: here is some added rack beta. my friend was just on it, so i still have no certainty of the size, its just heresay. i will give in depth rack beta as soon as i get on it. the most important thing is the 1-1.5 (.5-.75 camalot) inch pieces. more notably, several in-between that size is useful, and helps with confidence inspiration. I believe a gold alien would be a very helpful size.

Comments: As for the gear beta, here is what I would recommend. I would recommend a yellow Alien or TCUfor the start of the pillar, a 0.5 Camalot, 3 .75 Camalots, and 3 #1 Camalots. I believe I placed more #1 Camalots on the routes than 0.75s. great route.

Comments: well the entire route is 5.11- from the other start, and the start is r rated. so as far as 5.11-r, that would be correct. the whole route is sure as hell not 5.8, so its not 5.8r. the more proper way of describing it, i suppose, would be to say that it is 5.11- with a 5.8r start. there ya go a.c.

Comments: freaking phenomenal. best route ive done in the creek. super insecure, hard route. im glad i got on this before i read the beta, im glad i had to figure out the roof's lip beta for myself. BURLY! super hard for those of us whose perfect hand jam is just under a #2 camalot. but its still too small to get fists. really cool. get on it. and if tuffgong reads this anytime soon, you should really contemplate getting rid of the beta, its much more fun to figure out on your own.

Comments: im not entirely sure why people are so bent out of shape about the new bolt. it kind of amazes me that so many comments have been placed about the bolt, and very few about the actual route. if the bolt bothers you that much (and you are very concerned about the integrity) chop it. if you dont feel that strong, just dont clip it. it makes for the same adventure for you and makes the route safer for others.
