Comments: Watch out for the poison ivy (and loose rock, bad pro, semi-dangerous traverse) on pitch one. Pitch two and beyond is stellar.

Comments: I was on tha spur on a particularly windy day last year. My partner lead the pin ladder, and managed to take about an hour and a half. I sat there on that tiny stance, getting blown back and forth, watching the skull and crossbones display on the robot. I guess its batteries were low or something. Truly craptastic. Mike hate robot! Robot must die!

Comments: I poked around and still haven't found concrete data about the accident (some reports said 50-60 ft fall, some said 80). Does anybody know an easy way to calculate kN based on fall length? If it was 50 ft, how much force was generated on the piece?

Comments: Last time I climbed this, I was a snot-nosed high school kid with a rack of hexentrics and stoppers (I think I even had a couple of Forrest Titons[sp?]). At the time, I felt like hot stuff in my eb's and swami belt. A big hex (#8? #9?) protected the first crux nicely.

I went back up today, 20+ years later, a snot-nosed 38 year old, with my rack of expensive active protection, super tight Katanas, and a winter's worth of flailing in the gym. I was left with one question: Was I b... more >>
