Comments: Hopefully this restructuring will get Climbing back to a point where it doesn't sound like it was written by a bunch of college students that are to wise for their own good.

I let my subscription expire after reading one to many snide comments poking fun at one climbing area or another. The climbing community is very broad and diverse, and - even if it isn't your cup of tea - there is no good that comes from claiming that your personal interest, or area, is superior to someone else's. Just giv... more >>

Comments: IHO the best way to get off of P.G. is to first go right past the rap anchors, go up the ramp about 15', go through the slot to the left, come out on the other side and then descend as normal to the left. By descending this way, you avoid the - somewhat - scary exposure of immediately going left from the top of the climb. Getting to the slot through the rock is very easy - and much less intimidating - than taking the immediate left, especially for beginning climbers that you may be taking on th... more >>

Comments: This is really a wonderful route! The climbing has a lot of variation with hardly a foot of it that is boring. The views are spectacular. I absolutely agree with Gigette about the water on this route. I had 3 liters in my Camelback, and, even though I thought i was conserving it, managed to go through all of it by the end of the fourth pitch. It made for a very dry finish and walk off.

Just one note I would add to the description: On the sixth pitch, when the beta says to go up towards the bush... more >>

Comments: Todd Lane and I put up this route on 5/13/06. Todd had scoped out the line earlier and suggested that we put it up. After we put it up, Todd had the FA. We did use a chunk of 2x4 wedged in a pocket as part of our anchor for rapping in to place the anchor bolts. I think I may go in business selling different lengths of 2x4 and selling them as "Big Woods" for true environmentally conscious pro.
