Comments: Been some action on this "lost" route. Lost as in not much action the past couple of years. Seems to have 3 bolts not sure on the fourth? Looks super easy turns out this one makes ya think. I'd say coming from harbinger to this route the people I was climbing with thought 5.10 B/C for it. I feel it is not 5.10-. IMHO. Nice work BK figured it was yours but wasn't sure. If I'm not mistaken didn't you say the 5.11 had been removed?

Comments: This problem cuts left towards the top of the arete on slopers. The direct variation has been done by a couple of people. Its an excellent problem. Someone needs to add the sit.

Comments: There is a sit that starts down LOW on good chalked holds. The Chester Moves right on good holds into The Cheat ( V7). Also, If you don't get the small crimps at the end prepare for a body slam of massive proportions. :)

Comments: Hey Matt,
I find the best times are late summer/ Fall and Spring being the best for cooler temps and the best friction. Hope this helps.

Comments: Indeed it is confusing but for accuracey and now its a name that has been given to a boulder problem and a sport route. I was once told this problem may have been done in the late 70s. Long before the sport route i'm guessing.

Comments: Bring a brush the gash is a little gritty still. This problem is hard and in a way awkward. It took me about 3 days to finally figure it out. I'm sure some could flash it easily. Glad to hear people working it. I had to get a high left foot out left and then jump for the right side where the block curves down. If you look closely you can see a small bad indent to hit. Make a scary mantle and it's over.

Comments: This problem is Unrepeated as of 2014. DD showed me the actual Sds line. What people climb now is just a SDS to Open Wide (V5). DD pointed the exact line out on a hike. It starts slightly right of Up The Funk and moves left into Open Wide.

Comments: Lee,
Your info sounds more accurate. Either way I definetky want to give this problem a try next time I'm out. Lees Mantle is a hard contrived problem. I did hear you were working it and from the people I got this info from said that it included a weird lock off that seemed only you could do right. From what I'm told it is behind the backside of The Lily Pad Boulder? If not I'll keep asking around. Hmmm.... I know of some other obscure problems you possible did as well I guess it's best to ge... more >>

Comments: Yo Lee, Shirley Temple is I believe a V6/7 that starts on or very close to the start holds of Virgin Martini. It cuts out left. Its an older problem. Do you remember doing a problem called," Lee's Mantle on the back of the Lilypad Boulder? I hear its tough. I can only assume you did it hence the name.....

Comments: The Stump was removed long ago by Jon. I have done it many times without as well as many others. It continues at V4 no less no harder. Also, Tane there is a route I believe Jon put up called Stiching The Seams that starts low to the left and works into Stumped. I believe he rated it the same. Hope this helps sorry it took so many years for a response.

Comments: This was a result of a late wet season with lots of snow and lots of sunshine. Living at Sylvan I literally watched this thing grow until I thought it might be climb able. On the climb I broke the first 10 feet yikes! It grew back 2-3 days later. Usually appears mid winter- spring. There are multi pitch ice mixed climbs up by Sylvan. I have seen them!! Good luck!
