Comments: I had the displeasure of climbing this route when I took a few pills from my little 1st aid kit for the headache I had from drinking too much Scotch the night before at the base of the first pitch of Scenic Cruise. After it took me almost an hour to follow pitch 4, I realized I had taken 4 tylenol PMs instead of ibuprofen.

After being so tuckered out from topping out on my first big Black Canyon route, I slept in the back of my truck for the next 20 hours.

Comments: that death flake will probably come off sooner than later considering that the route itself was created by rockfall- the tip of it also has a fracture in it. be careful! just as fun as gordon's!!

Comments: i went for the straight up finish and with a heel hook, it was actually one of the easier moves on the climb. I had a really really hard time on this one. Definately a climb to prove, "it's all 5.9". Those "jugs" we barndoor laybacks on suspect rock. Bring 2x#3's. One to protect the gravely flaring start, one for the top-out. Good training for those sandbagged alpine finishes, otherwise horrible training for confidence. Tick fever felt a lot easier after this one! Regardless, thank you for... more >>
