Comments: Incredibly cool. That looks like The Land of Dairy Queen. What a great couple's route - my wife and I will have to put it on the list.

Comments: I love this route - definitely worth doing again and again. Close enough to the road to hit on the way off the mountain if there is still an hour of daylight left. My first time on this I was climbing into the dark, actually. Between the last clip and the chain anchor it gets a little thin and meanders a bit, so I give it a PG-13.

Comments: Route starts on the south edge of the cove - traverse OVER to the middle of the face and then work your way UP.

Comments: This is a nice area outside the summer months, or really early in the AM when it's hot. Jonas and I just did a little enchainment of areas, starting at Jailhouse, bombing down the creek to Riv, and finishing the day at Hairpin. Good times. Plenty of wildlife down from the big falls near Soldier trail. The climbs at Riv are well bolted, mostly little crimps and edges. Solid, nothing particularly hard. I love this whole section in the spring and it's totally worth the hike in. Hell, the hike... more >>

Comments: Do any of youz out there know the deal with this dangling gear at Rivendale? It has been there... well, at least since before my first time at the wall. That was about three years ago. Anyway, just curious. I don't really want to go up there and get it down. It's too hot today.

Comments: Hillary Davis has this as a 7+ on her page (thanks for the great work there, Hillary). I think that rating may be a little shy on the crux moves, but everywhere else this is a great time on forgiving rock. Long for the area and tons of fun. I found a few suspiciously hollow flakes and one softball sized chunk that's probably going to blow out soon. Be careful, my pretties!

Comments: I'll back up that one, jbak. Could definitely use a better topo. If you're into that sort of thing. If you can stomach the fun, just climb at Milagrosa and ask questions later.
