Comments: seems reasonable, but the sorting here on MP doesn't indicate that.

Comments: didn't climb as well as it looks, the holds take you left and the bolts take your right, resulting in an awkward bit of climbing. Fun route nonetheless

Comments: Best route of the 3 in a row here, imo. not a squeeze job considering the quality of rock and um well the gallery, sweet pain, the black corridor, etc. was a bit curious if the line was intended to go left of the bolts after the pod or right?? could be climbed either way. glad it wasn't a TR

Comments: not a bad route, the rock is immaculate. The 3rd bolt definitely cross loads the biner, has nothing to do w/ the make of the hanger, how easy the climb is etc. Has everything to do with it being in the wrong location, pretty simple no disrespect intended.

Comments: I think B is actually pointed at Cocoa crag , could be wrong but I'm assuming red rock is to the left in this photo

Comments: I would doubt you'd have too much traffic on this route to contend with, especially if you are there mid week. It's a public climbing area on BLM land I think, so you have as much right to climb it as anyone does. That said, I'm not sure how law enforcement views over nights in the canyon, as it's not something that happens very often there. Since you will be parking near a very busy highway (US HWY 14/16/20), LEO will likely notice the car, especially if it's there multiple nights, not sure ... more >>

Comments: Would be so fun to do in a day. really excellent write up , thanks. It's not blasphemous to say the Winds are... wait a sec. The winds suck , the Sierras are where it's at!

Comments: compare that with the description of happy hooker. anyway this is power surge
, if you don't agree, call it whatever you want. I agree that the main wall is hoot and the "traverse wall", (wall to the right of the main wall) is something else all together. That said, many of the descriptions for the Iowa climbs are either wrong or confusing.

Comments: It's not as good as it looks over there near the main areas. The best routes in that section of the park are on the open side.

Comments: OK maybe Rick and I got it wrong but I thought there was another route to the right of chief of scouts that you are talking about Todd. Don't recall Chief of Scouts being an arete climb. Believe you are talking about the right route referred to in the description not the left

Comments: Use caution climbing this route. The bulge (there is no roof) is quite loose and dirty. Dirty because it is in a streak that gets a lot of runoff, loose because it was never cleaned properly by the FAs. Otherwise, the bottom slab and top section are really nice rock.

Comments: FA: Troy Davison

Really don't think there is any sandstone in this wall, certainly won't help locate the route even if there is. The natural arch 100-150 feet left of the route gives it away as much as anything as stated. If you come down the main walk off from the top of the bluff (currently a fire pit at the top of the cliff band near the walk down), walk towards the lower parking lot on the trail for 100 yards (or as Bill McKirgan indicated 200 or so yards from Boulevard wall), then head t... more >>

Comments: Not a waste of bolts, certainly not by Iowa standards. Bomber rock and fun moves for the new leader. The top (after the 1st set of anchors) is exciting climbing with a bit of a puzzling sequence over the roof. 5.8 to 5.10c extension
