Comments: A great route indeed, and considering the area it's arguably a classic, but it's not "a serious runout" no matter one's height.

Comments: What about calling it DRC, it's easier than some three name route for such a short scramble? Whether the D stands for Dirty or Dead can be a secret.

Comments: If one times it right with the big winter high tides ol' Jonah here is a fairly decent spot to DWS. Need some place to get in shape for Thailand.

Comments: Heads up Point Dume climbers, my buddy in Pasadena just got some fresh metal thanks to Greg at ASCA and we plan to replace the lead bolts this weekend. We’ll post pictures.

Update: Unfortunately the potluck approach to bringing the necessary gear didn’t quite work out, the individual responsible for bring the grinder was unable to show and as a result we could not remove the rusty bolts. The plan to replace said lead bolts will have to be re-scheduled. Point Dume area climbers will be kept in t... more >>

Comments: The base of this climb is chock full of poison oak, however, there is a nice boulder on which to stand and belay. The helpful tip is to clip a long sling (36"+) off the first bolt and flake your rope over that...This is a good climb that is worth a 'high maintenance' belay.

Comments: This is a 3-bolt sport route that is fairly vertical and is a good, safe route to fall on for those looking to try leading a stiff .10

Comments: A great crack for placing gear, two old pins that still appear bomber and a monster exit muffin...add to it all that in the summer the routes get afternoon shade, a big airy rap from the large boulder on top when it's done, everything one could ask for.

Comments: Doug Roberts had the FTR of this route and he suggests a directional up top would eliminate the pendulum potential when TR’ing off the Nugget anchors. A small cam in a horizontal crack would do the trick.
