How good is the view?!

The summit of Fun in the Sun, in Rattlesnake Canyon, is simply stunning. The world drops away in all are 70 meters above the canyon floor and more than a 2,000 feet above the ocean... The Fun in the Sun wall, in Rattlesnake Canyon, gets my vote as Santa Barbara's coolest climbing outing. The wall boasts excellent moderate face climbs up to 70 meters tall (70 meters!!). And the upper headwall of Fun in the Sun is simply unforgettable--certainly the best route I've done to date in SB.

Blue - Unnamed 5.9
Green - King Snake Crack (5.7)
Yellow - Tender Flakes of Mercy (5.8)
Red - Fun in the Sun (5.8) Route topo for Tender Flakes of Mercy, in Rattlesnake Canyon.

Green is Kingsnake Crack (5.7 PG-13).
Yellow is Tender Flakes (5.8 PG-13). Route topo for King Snake Crack, in Rattlesnake Canyon.

Green is King Snake Crack (5.7 PG-13).
Yellow is Tender Flakes of Mercy (5.8 PG-13). One of the route's must stunning features is found half-way up the layback crack. How a King Snake got to this point on the wall (90 feet above the ground!) boggles the mind.

Keep this in mind when climbing in the area - the snakes in Rattlesnake Canyon climb 5.7.
