Location: NV : Reno - Carson City : Dinosaur Rock By: matt morgan When: Aug 3, 2009 | view comment >> | Comments: There is now rappel chains on all the routes that can be lead. (Except at the top of the .11 arete, but can be cleaned by leading any route on the main face, lowering and cleaning.) Also, does anyone know what the 3 bolt route, down by the river is graded?

Location: NV : Reno - Carson City : Iron Butte : Wild Women of the Planet Pl... (5.9) By: matt morgan When: Jul 31, 2009 | view comment >> | Comments: The fixed pin is gone, but you can place a small nut, or a micro cam in the small crack just above where the fixed pin was located (according to Anderson's guide book.) There is still chains above the old fixed pin location to lower off.

Location: NV : Reno - Carson City : Carson City Prison Hill By: matt morgan When: Jul 30, 2009 | view comment >> | Comments: I don't know why there is a warning about the bolts at Prison Hill. These routes were put up nearly the same time as Dinosaur and Iron Butte, but there isn't a warning regarding those bolts. The bolts at Prison are in the same condition as the aforementioned crags. And there are now rappel chains to lower from the climbs. You do not have to leave a beaner anymore.

Location: NV : Reno - Carson City : Washoe Boulder's : Warm Up Wall : Gand Traverse (V1) By: matt morgan When: Jul 27, 2009 | view comment >> | Comments: From left to right the lollipop traverse has three cruxes. First crux comes just at the end of the initial pumpy section. The second crux come while exiting the small cave. And the third crux is working around the final (head height) bulge.

Location: NV : Reno - Carson City : Washoe Boulder's : Boulder B/Bat Cave : Cave In (V2) By: matt morgan When: Jul 23, 2009 | view comment >> | Comments: This route is a fun jug hall. It is a mini Mountaineers route, without the big fall potential. Fun moves in an overhanging cave.

Location: NV : Reno - Carson City : Washoe Boulder's : Boulder B/Bat Cave : Twister (V3) By: matt morgan When: Jul 23, 2009 | view comment >> | Comments: This is one of the better v3 at the Goni boulders. It starts at the obvious sitdown buldge in the middle of the cave. Move strait up over the buldge on to a left hand crimps up higher. From the crimps move right hand to large slopey shelf. From the large slopey either find small pocket to move to the large jug or throw from teh slopey shelf. From the large jug move though pocket to the top. Steep route with dynamic moves and fun footwork.

Location: NV : Reno - Carson City : Washoe Boulder's : Photo By: matt morgan When: Jul 21, 2009 | view comment >> | Comments: This is not the right twin. This is the VO problem on the arete next to Silver Surfer. It is a good juggy problem about VO/V1. To the climbers left of this problem is a good V5 called Jump. Crimpy promblem with initally poor feet moving to a high step to reach the lip.
