Comments: As a few others have said, the final pitch to the summit is much harder than 5.9 (closer to a hard 5.11 or 5.12).

Comments: My mom was leading this route today and pulled off a large (2 foot diameter) piece of rock. The rock missed my dad who was belaying, but mom took a bad fall and shattered her ankle and will need surgery. We have never had a problem in the past with loose rock on this route. Please be careful on this one.

Comments: I just climbed Outer Space earlier today, and I do not remember the last pitch looking like that. Is this photo actually of a different climb?

Comments: I lead Potholes today and then top roped a line between Potholes and that runout 5.8 that is 25 feet left of Potholes. I have not found any info on this line. The first 20 feet are the best with a large throw left and then a difficult match fighting the barn door. This felt somewhere in the 5.11 range to me. I am also 6'4", so the throw left could be much more difficult for someone shorter. I saw some chalk on the line, so I was just wondering who else has climb this and what there thoughts were... more >>

Comments: Felt much easier than a 9+, but the last place I climbed before this was Turkey Rocks.

Comments: I climbed the route yesterday on Wed 8/8. I lost a green linkcam I think at the final belay ledge. Not sure what happened, but I think it may have just wiggled off my harness without me noticing or I possibly left it in the wall there. If anyone finds it, please email me at or text my cell at (616)648-9286. I know it's a long shot but figured I would at least try. Other than that, the route was amazing. Thanks.

Comments: I agree with Germsauce. I found it to be easier than an 11, but I am also 6'4'". Awesome route, my favorite at Shelf for the moment.
