Comments: A large portion of why I enjoy this route is precisely because it incorporates some elements of harder bouldering into sport climbing (IE, challenging holds where conditions _do_ matter). Another example demonstrating how subjectivity permeates our sport. I sent the route today in 80 degree weather. Really wasn't so bad and I had a good time doing it.

Comments: i intended to do the original line when i did this prob back in feb 2010; but, i did it this way instead--i thought it was easier than using the crimps. With that said, it really didn't seem like a different line (as opposed to the crimp version)--it seemed more like an alternative way to do the same problem. Should this variation really be distinguished from the crimp version??? it seems like a matter of different beta. (Similar grade, identical start/end, etc.). regardless, its a ... more >>

Comments: a jumpstart sounds cool! I think that Aaron Mike did a version of the non-jump start that begins above the horizontal left hand edge on the large sloping undercling-pinch. However, i forget what he named it, and what grade he proposed. A very committing and awesome send!

Comments: If youre willing to overlook its initial lowball appearance, this problem climbs very well! lots of moves with an easy first section, followed by a sustained crux section and difficult top out. Around 13 arm movements before all is said and done, and a lot of footwork in between!

Comments: this is one of the best boulder problems that i've ever seen! highly recommended... very difficult, and requires a lot of figuring (and falling) if it is near your limit. maybe it's because i did it in the summer--and on a humid day at that--but i feel more inclined to call this one v10.. but what do i know! i'll be interested to see how it feels on a crisp, dry, and cool fall day!

Comments: i had that thought too, which is why i didn't post this area up for over a year. after looking into it as well as i could, i decided the worst that could happen was that i take it down/adjust names, etc. the bands are too short to fit the description. the one that is tall is a slab, whereas in the description for the barefoot wall, it is overhanging. from Mcmillen's guide regarding the BF wall: "More like routes than boulder problems." these problems are pretty short and sweet, and i believe... more >>
