Terrible picture, but you get the idea. Start between the two slashes with one hand on the left of the dihedral on a crimp and one hand in the dihedral on an undercling.

After hours of scavenging construction sites and cutting 2x4 with my letherman (eventually I bought a hand saw) this is what I could come up with. Currently just a set of large rungs (shaved down and rounded off with the letherman as well).

Here is somewhat of a beta photo. Mildage is drawn in on the right. The large bush at the base of the climb was present when I first climbed this route.

Comments: Cameron Frisby and I spend a couple of days in LDE this week and I have to say a big thanks to all who have put effort into developing this area. We found all of the routes to be high quality and well thought out. High Man on the Shmotem Pole was one of the more enjoyable sport routes I have done in a while. Good luck to whomever is working on finishing off the second pitch.

If you are worried about the last bit of driving, I can tell you that a stock 4x4 tacoma with a fairly incompetent of... more >>

Comments: Bjorn, that thing looks sick. I will definitely be planning on checking that out in a few weeks when I'm back in CO. Nice work on the find and the send!

Comments: Did this as a second pitch to YBL. Very high quality. Definitely would have felt like 5.9 if you try to place during the crux. Also, there is a little bulge above the anchors at the top that you can continue up and add another 20 feet to the climb (this ends right where Star Wars ends).

Comments: I am totally fine with leaving it. I think it just adds to the adventure (although I don't think that most people climb in CCC for the adventure).

Comments: So I left this route unnamed for now because I don't want to go around renaming routes that the hardmen of old probably just called a warm up. If anyone has any more information on this climb, feel free to let me know and I will definately update it on here. This climb was just too good to pass up, first ascent or 1000th ascent.

A little obscure and out of the way, but that's my style. And it beats driving all the way to Boulder. Look forward to some more additions to the trad climbing selecti... more >>

Comments: If you're going to break out the rack to hit up some of the other climbs here, might as well get a thrill on this climb. You can double protect about 15 feet off the deck and then run it out to some decent cam placements where the crack begins to angle into the center. I'm giving it 1 star for the climbing and 2 stars for the thrill.

Comments: So, my gumby nature is showing. By Sex Cave, what I meant was "NOMAD'S CAVE". Goes to show how often I tie in at crags with 12c/d warmups. However, if you look directly above the Nomad's Cave from the road, there are two distinct dihedrals. I'll try to post some photos on the Nomad page as soon as I get back up there.

Comments: There are a few established routes on the rock above the Sex Cave (one sport route that I found for sure). However, there are two sick splitter cracks in two separate right-facing dihedrals in the same area. I went up there to check them out today and one of them could possible be the best moderate crack in Clear Creek (off to thin hands). My question is, does anyone know if they have been climbed? The one I looked at closly was pretty dirty and definitely hasn't seen an ascent in the recent pas... more >>
