Comments: I climbed this Saturday and found P1 to be difficult for 5.5 (especially close to the top) and difficult to protect (especially near the bottom). It's definitely worth mentioning that there is a LOT of loose rock in the gully, especially around the 1st belay tree. The plentiful dirt in the inauspicious P2 gully is also slippery as hell. P3 was a beautiful short cruise to the summit.
We walked right past the top of the rap going West, and only found it backtracking after about 30 minutes of t... more >>

Comments: Apparently this program is off to a great start. "Sterlingjim" posted on another site that "[He has] a couple thousand pounds of used rope".

Comments: One of my first leads and favorite memories to this day. It was pouring rain by the time we reached the P2 Crux. I led the 3rd pitch straight up a freakin' waterfall. The sensation of being up on top after such a wild ride was amazing...

Comments: After nixing the Direct (too long for my friend Patrik to be sure of making his flight) we were looking for Baker's, but I'm pretty sure we ended up on this. I set an exciting anchor using an actual knotted sling in a finger pocket that spit out all other pro, and was pumped to lead through the chimney on the left hand side of the second roof. Awesome morning! Next time I'd start higher on the easy slab at the base so that I didn't have to belay from the first skinny tree at the bottom of the... more >>

Comments: I'm planning on doing the direct route on the 1st with a friend from back east on Wednesday. Am I right in thinking that we're looking at about 4 hours car to car?

Thanks Leo and Tony for your responses. We had a stellar morning on either Zig-Zag or Kamikaze Overhangs (I'd be glad to hear from anyone what exactly the difference is between these routes)
