Comments: Did the second ascent soon after with Dougie Mullin(I think?). It also requires a competant second due to the traversing nature of the route.

Comments: Oh the pain, the pain. It is still with me 20 years on.
Yes it is testing for its grade and not great for the feet.

Comments: Would also suggest that the use of a local guide book is recommended as it isn't too difficult to pad up a pitch thinking it is 5.10a only to get past the point of no return on a 5.11b/c slab on a neighbouring route 30 metres from last runner with potential for a big rasper (70mts+)
Still your slab climbing will certainly improve.

Comments: A great route which the description doesn't do justice. You need to get there to see the beauty.
Haystacks and the Spire are also imposing.
Does require dry conditions as the crux across the slab can be wet and involves small crimps and footholds.

Comments: Have soloed this and it is generally regarded as classic HVS which compares with 5.9
Occassionally wet in the corner and at the second crux high up. If lightly wet can be bridged avoiding the wet holds in the corner.

Comments: Not recommended when wet due to reliance of friction when padding up the slabs.

Comments: Getting there - Or more easily getting there drive to Inverness and then head from there to Torridon or all points north.

Comments: Corners can be wet for a long period after heavy rain hence one of the reasons the crag is great in the winter.
