Our bivy spot. We chose to bivy before the rappel point because the weather was not good. We didn't want to commit to the route only to wake up to no visibility and have to bail down to the Carbon. We found this spot just a couple hundred feet before reaching point 10,300 ft.  Climbing up the final exit gully on Curtis Ridge. It steepened here to 60+ degrees.  Typical conditions on the upper section of Curtis Ridge. Plenty of snow slopes in between rock bands, all steep and exposed.  Joe traversing sun cupped snow slopes to pass the prominent gendarme on Curtis Ridge.  Ascending slopes of Curtis ridge around 9,000 feet during stormy weather.
