Comments: This thing is filthy and looks terrible but climbs really well. There is great gear except for the very bottom which is covered in lichen. The bolt is perfectly located right at the only hard move....

Comments: We didn't have a clue which route this was.... Just took a guess. Hope we didn't mislead anyone. At least it's easier than Richter Scale.

Comments: Finally got to do the whole route today. Dan's description was pretty much spot on. Except it only seemed like about 800 instead of 1200 feet. Most pitches we only used half of our 70....

I did notice a couple of hangers missing here and there but on super easy sections. The only piece of gear we used was on P3, a #2 Camalot (a smaller cam would have fit as well). After P4, you can belay from the comfy ledge instead of the anchor. There is a nice crack on the right side of the top t... more >>

Just get back in your time machine and unclip the anchor.... Only kidding with you. Hope you get them back.

Comments: "A couple extra large cams"
Extra as in double or triple #3, OR Extra-Large like #6 and Valley Giant?

Comments: Thanks Anthony

I figured there was a reason... Just couldn't figure it out on my own.
Maybe the problems on the Mental Block should be listed as MB? I guess it doesn't matter since there are only a couple...

Comments: You can bail from the 1st or 2nd pitch with one rope. Believe me, I've been rained off a couple times.... Obviously, the tree is the first anchor. The 1st pitch belay ledge usually has slings in place on the right side (if you are expecting to bail, bring some extra webbing and rings). From here, you can get to the anchor for George's Tree, and from here to the ground. I would agree that it is harder to get down with one rope from P3 and higher....

Comments: I added a sling to the thread under the scary looking block on the top of this today. Only mentioning it incase anyone else decides to do the same. There is some kind of rodent or maybe a bat living in there and it didn't like it when I stuck my hand in.
Anyway, the climbing was fun and fairly easy up to the roof. The crux is just pulling over...

Comments: Where is it in relation to the new anchor? I remember what it looked like, with the little, head-sized rock supporting it. I even rapped off it, so you can imagine I looked at it pretty hard (waiting for it to fall and kill me).... Didn't notice it today, so I assumed it got trundled. But if you say it is there, I believe you.

Thanks for the new anchor.

Comments: Is the boulder that the cable was on gone? I couldn't recognize it. Lots of big loose blocks up there, but they didn't look like the one the cable was around....

This used to be rated 5.6.

Comments: A #2 Helium friend didn't fit into the suggested gear placement, but a green C4 works great. No need for any other gear except quickdraws of course....

We had tons of rope left rapping with our 70m. Seems like a 60m will reach (4th class down-climb if not).
