Comments: Isn't this the same route as Rug Munchers?
We followed the left-facing dihedral/water groove. When the corner ended, we crossed the red rock to the left. We belayed at the ledge below the water groove/slot that Guy mentions. It looked fun, but it was way easier to step back right and up the left-facing flakes.

Comments: That obvious crack is the easy downclimb to the rap anchor.

Comments: 4th class I guess. Much easier than Hillbilly and no problem downclimbing.

Comments: If you clip the last bolt on Botonga, a #2 Camalot will protect the runout to it....

Comments: Fun. Be gentle with the undercling flake near the crux. It's helpful, but if someone yards on it, it's gone.

Comments: A small cam (#0.5 c4?) would be helpfull to reach the first bolt. It's a little scary without. Also, there are no rings at the anchor.

Comments: By heading out left early and not placing gear in the dihedral, you can avoid enough rope drag to make the top in one pitch....

Comments: The belay flake/ledge is only about 70 feet up, but a 70m rope reaches the top from there.

Comments: Tod, very true about the block. I jumped up and down on it, and it wouldn't go, but if you stay on the bolt line, you won't disturb it. It would certainly be bad to be there if it ever fell. I'll try to take care of it soon....

Comments: Yes, he has just finished the "run out" section. The gear is mostly good on the whole climb...

Comments: I was annoyed you can't quite link any of the rappels with one rope, you have to do all 3 (if you want the ends to reach), but with two 70s, you can reach all the way down from the top....

Comments: One of these routes had a loose anchor bolt when I climbed it. I think it was this one. Loose stud. Did you notice, Leo?

Comments: Someone must have loved this boulder!?!? In the beginning of September, it became their final resting place as their ashes where scattered around on the ledge above the slab. Bits of bone continue to trickle down on the holds....
Just a heads up if that sort of thing makes you squeamish.
Anyway, rest in peace my fellow Tree Slab aficionado, whoever you were.

Comments: This route doesn't look like much from a distance, but it packs a lot of cool climbing with wild position into a short distance. The gear is pretty bad, if you blow it on the arete you will probably deck. It wouldn't be as scary if it was brushed a little.... Even clean, it would still be scary and awesome!

Comments: It seems like the start of this route is part of an ancient line… If you follow the natural weakness up and right of the bolt line, I ran across this relic. An old Lost Arrow with a Bedayn California oval.

Comments: With a 70m, you can climb the whole thing as one pitch and lower back to the mid-anchor so your partner can lead the 2nd pitch too....

The climb to the left has shitty gear and no bolts.
