This might very well be the best route at Rushmore under 5.9. A lot of fun. Backpacks give you an idea of how big this one is...

This is the steep face of Belmont Brie-- note the lichen. The shallow dihedral to the right can be seen as well. The chossy middle begins as the seam of holds widens out to the left. The steep bulges at the top actually produce some excellent climbing on better quality rock. Despite the good climbing at the top, if you happen to walk by something that looks like this while wandering the Magna Carta area-- keep walking...

Fun steep athletic route. Definitely not technical crimping or Rushmore friction. Some pretty interesting holds.

This photo is taken from the base of the right-angling ramp that begins the route. The big holds of the right- angling ascending traverse are visible as is, toward the upper-center part of the photograph, the pillar (which looks somewhat like a gigantic jar with a lid on it). The photo shows the lower and middle parts of the route's somewhat crescent-shaped line.
