Pagoda Mountain and Crescent Ridge from the approach.  Found this little bit of history on the lower part of the route.  The aluminum hanger looks just as flimsy in real life as it does in the picture.                                    Gipfelkreuz (summit cross) on the Hoher Göll.  Flowering barrel cactus, HVCG  Reproduction of a border marker from the 1818 survey. "B" stands for "Bayern" (Bavaria),Œ stands for "Österreich" (Austria). The Berchtesgaden area was part of Austria until the early 19th century, when it was ceded to Bavaria.
