Comments: Mikeehale's picture is the key.
It is located about 40 yds up the first scree slope you encounter on the hike up. It is about 20 feet to the left of the biggest boulder in the scree slope.

If you miss this turn off your day will be more strenuous.

Comments: This is not bolted except for the lone bolt above the anchors for Jen's French Kiss. ( At least I hope no one bolted it.) The 9R Red Rock starts to the right of Jen's and passes a rusty piton, moves left to the lone bolt you mention off of the ledge, and then continues to the top of the wall.
Check out the topo on the main page. It may help.
I believe you were on Jen's French Kiss a fully bolted route

Comments: Sweet hangers. Hope they don't break on a client when he's out.

Tony does some goofy stuff at times, but using those hangers is a bit out there even for him.

Comments: Again no worries Woobly just wanted everyone to know that this topo was in fact not an updated topo just an enhanced posting from James' guidebook, which did not have any of the correct names. If you do really want to post an updated topo just stop by IME and get the correct route names and FA info. The guys at IME are awesome and it is just as easy to post the right info to begin with.

Comments: No worries Woobly.
Appreciate the effort. Just looked like you posted info from James guidebook and did not actually update the topo with correct information. If you would like to do so just stop by IME and get the correct route names and FA info.

Comments: If you know who retro'd all of the routes in this area I fully support your efforts to discuss and possibly return them to their original state.

I think it should be a public discussion so that all know what is going on, and who is involved but I will not bother you further.

Comments: Yep straight up til you hit the anchors. You can plug a few pieces if you want. There are now rap stations everywhere. A 70m gets you down easy and a 60m should work just fine.

Comments: Peter and Mark,
Glad you got out to explore.
Some will consider most if not all of the routes in Tanners to be at least R rated. The goal here was to follow a more old school philosophy in route developement. Climbs were not protected for a specific level of leader based on their rating.
Have fun.
Luke

Comments: It would be cool if John can get up there and verify. Some of the pictures posted are misleading about where the climb goes. The line of bolts moves left from the start. Could be Tourist Trap Direct too? I agree with TP though, if we bolted John's 5.7X I'll help pull and patch.

Comments: If you stay on the trail there is no bush wacking, anywhere. There are even ropes attached to help through the loose sections at the top.
Read the getting there section above.

Comments: So LCC Climber's comment about the bolt is unrelated to the Tourist Trap variation.
Is The Tourist Trap a new variation with a new bolt, does it use one of the last bolts of the Tingey's Direct variation.

Comments: So is it in the groove or out as indicated by the above topo? Is there a bolt there now? More info will make it easier to find the hole as I and most others have never seen it. If the bolt has been replaced then why not post this worthy variation up in the data base? Is the bolt hole the one shown in the Ruckman guide for the groove pitch? I will go look. Thanks for the info. Must of been a bloody near death fall!

Comments: Those 90's sure were sooomethin'! I would love to see a picture of the old bolt hole, which was supposedly in the groove not where you indicate.
Bad memory or just plain ol'BS?

Comments: The roof moves

The climber on the left looks like they missed the first half of the climb (Feline Stall Tactics) including the crux. Check out the link above and this one. Crappy topo
