Comments: This route is easily done in 1 pitch. Having said that the first pitch is quite heady from the start, meaning a less than optimal landing incase you don't make it to your first gear placement. Thou not to difficult, it is fairly beta intensive. A key for me was a left handed underling at the bolts. I first missed it and got wigged out and sat on the second bolt. The splitter corner is steep, pumpy and incredibly good climbing. One to come back for!

Comments: Just added new 1/2" x 6" stud anchors with chains today. Sucks that someone bashed the old ones that were on top. They will have a hard time doing so again.

Comments: I was just up there yesterday. The old mank bolts have been replaced. The pitons are still there, but you can get gear between the two in the horizantal crack. The top anchors are still the old ones but they dont look like they are going anywhere

Comments: i agree with both of you. ive put up a few very scetchy r/x routes in the past and then gone back to see bolts on them. it is a badge of honor to know i did it on crap for gear and disheartning that someone didnt ask before they just assumed it hadnt been done because there were no bolts on it. i left the bolts for the reasons given by arjunmh. ive also chopped a route with community support (not in this state) that changed the boldness of a classic route it was near. greir, you guys are buds so... more >>

Comments: before the direct line was bolted, it was done on tr then cleaned on rappel. some pretty good size blocks came off so it appeard that it had not been climbed before. imho it looked like bolts would be needed or it was basiclly a solo. i am truely sorry that i bolted a line that had been done before in a better style. serious kudos for doing it on gear. if you think the bolts should go ill remove them. no questions asked.

Comments: i thought it would go i just didnt want to make a bolt line to the top. I just wanted a line on the west face as it was such a clean wall. i liked the idea of linking back to the oginal totem pole route. the continuation up the arete would also make for a really cool line as well. im stoked that the TLC that the totem pole has seen lately has inspired others to do the same. Carry on!
