Comments: Also, if you plan on knocking out some climbs on the east face, you can scramble easily over to the Toe Jam/bearded cabbage anchors directly across on the opposite side and rap from them.

Comments: I have not yet found a climb of equal quality in Mission Gorge. The line is beautiful and outstanding amongst its shorter MG brethren. The top bulge offwidth section offering the perfect bit variety to an already fun climb, making this a major classic in the area. Definitely need a #4 for the top, although possiblities for other protection exist prior to committing to this section. Traversing from the pillar to the crack is definitely easier for the taller folks, but feet are solid and the... more >>

Comments: A decently fun route if you're waiting for other routes in the area to open up. Can be difficult to find good pro once your on the second half of the route, but the there is little to worry about with great hands and feet the whole way

Comments: It's been said over and over again but after having done dappled mare and enjoyed every minute of it, I found the arete move on pitch 3 down right scary. Retrospectively it wasn't that bad but the next twenty feet I felt like I was pulling the rock up after me the rope drag was so bad. Definitely long runners.

Comments: hilarious, that's how I look on the drive to Joshua tree. Lock the cruise control on 60 mph and just sit back and let the rest of the world go rushing past me.

Comments: Awesome photo, love how the shadows frame the climber. The whole composition gives you that classic feel of "out there - on the edge the universe locked in battle with the rock in a do or die moment that seems to extend time to infinity" type of situation... right?

Comments: I lead it in the crack with as stated great fist jam, and really high, crazy awkward, yet rewardingly fun, foot jam as I plugged in my second piece, my second opted for the slab face and had a horrible time getting that second piece out.... I only laughed.

Comments: Definitely not as bad as made to seem. The crux beginning is fun to work for someone just breaking into the 9's at J tree.

Comments: The gulley eats up almost more time then the crack. I think the bush growing in the gulley is the routes crux. The crack is Really fun though, another J tree crack that is just sadly short.

Comments: I found it to be great test for a starting trad climber, fairly obvious gear placements, however being the first route I ever truly felt like I was placing gear on lead ( not on some easy peasy japanesey low angle scramble wanna be climb) It really challenged me mentally having committed myself now just placing solid gear and keep cruising.
