Comments: The route has a "mountain" feel to it, just like everything on Brinton's. Definitely worth leading. I'd make sure the belayer is anchored because of the big drop between the boulders to the right.

Comments: Burt -- I think that the move you're talking about is a hard 5.10 but I also think that the Stretcher on Pedestal Buttress is hard 10 (instead 5.9+) for example. So that kinda goes against the way things are rated at the Lake. Great route regardless.

Comments: A buddy of mine fell on Coup d'Etat. Rope cought inside a crack which tore and pulled the sheath exposing ~5ft of the core. Creepy.

Comments: Burt, I made a silly mistake allowing my first impression of the Lake to be shaped by a single climbing day at the East Bluff in the Fall of 2002. I was told then this was the top rope area (cams do not hold) and had to dodge a top rope tossed on me when leading Upper Diagonal. Did not go back there for 4 years!! There's nothing like a home crag. I feel that 'homesickness' whenever I see shots from the New or the Red. I try to go there once a year but it's hard with all the money.
