Comments: Does anyone know if this is the 5.10X trad route in Toula's old guide called Sporte?

Comments: You mentioned this somewhere else, but just to reinforce it, 1 60m rope does NOT get you to the ground. You can still do this climb with 1 rope, but be careful and you'll have to downclimb the first 15 ft of the climb.

Comments: Excelent route, one of the best for sure. I probably wouldn't go so far as to call this R, since the runout is 5.10 climbing on a 12a route. You get a bomber #1 Camalot at about 10 ft. I was a bit scared the first time up since I hadn't TR'd the start, but it turned out to be pretty solid. I actually think the start of TL Bush is worse (because you can't bail and jump in a pond if you get scared).

Comments: I believe the 5.8 variation is the giant flake to the left of the face. If you have a big piece or 2 (and you trust the giant flake) then this is a fun variation. It goes from hands to squeeze chimney.

Someone bolted the traverse on P2, but they left the crux of P1 with a 30' groundfall?? I thought the traverse protected fine, but I remember that first pitch sure needed a bolt at the crux.

Comments: Does anyone have any info on the original route on this tower? We intended to repeat it, but the higher we went the less it seemed to fit the guide book description:"north lightning bolt cracks". There were no slings or fixed anchors on the summit, so unless some bird made a nest out of them I don't think anyone could have been on this summit before. The Tower has a separate summit of the same height about 30 ft away, so I figure the original route must have summited the east tower. It was g... more >>

Comments: The 2nd and 4th pitches of this route are classic. Great climb, great summit!

Comments: I did this route on Thanksgiving night. In the dark I couldn't tell which summit was higher, so I accidentally climbed up the left one. Some pretty wild unprotected full body bridging gets you there. I was pretty dissapointed to discover that there were no anchors, and I had to reverse the last 30 ft of chimney to get back on route. Moral of the story, don't climb with a stomach full of turkey and wine. What's up with all the old bolts next to cracks? This felt like it would have been a fu... more >>

Comments: I don't think the left-hand start is any harder than the thin hands bit at the start of Isaiah proper. I'd call them both 10- personally. This might be the pumpiest 5.9 I've climbed anywhere. It's my favorite climb at the overlook.

Comments: For even more fun, finish this climb on Sexual Deviations. Step right under the big roof at top and pull over with hands and fists. (5.10+)
