My 5 year old got bored on this one and looked for any variations he could find. the crack is good to learn how to place gear.

If your wife or girlfriend does not climb, bring them on this route and they will be hooked! Bring your kids on this route, great fun and they will not get tired! Kills Flatiron climbing!

Location: CO : Boulder : Eldorado Canyon SP : The Bastille : The Bastille - N Face : The Bastille Crack (5.7) By: Kevin Coopman When: May 31, 2004 | view comment >> | Comments: I climbed the Bastille with my 5 year old son last week and it was great. When climbing with little kids (if anyone other than me does?) the hard part is actually the 5.4 part of the climb because of the reach. I had to push his bum up a couple of the rocks meanwhile I could not keep up to him on P2.
Fun climb but a crack climb. Kids might do better on the Werk Supp route, I will let you know later this week!

Location: CO : Boulder : Flagstaff : Crown Rock By: Kevin Coopman When: Mar 23, 2004 | view comment >> | Comments: This is a great place to start climbing. This was the rock my son starting climbing on when he was 4. It is easy to attach a top rope and start climbing (college students solo it all the time) .
It is like a mini Flatiron and is a good place for people to learn how to rappel. Best starter rock for little kids, they love it!
Thanks,Kevin

Location: CO : Boulder : Flatirons : North : First Flatiron By: Kevin Coopman When: Mar 16, 2004 | view comment >> | Comments: Hello, I brought my 5 year old up the First Flatiron. We had a party of 4 so it took 1-1.5 hours between pitches. If you are going to climb the Flatiron, a smaller party (2 or 3) is much, much better.
