Comments: I would not say this is a soft .12b, especially by Clear Creek standards. And definitely super fun!!!

Comments: I messaged Scott about the variation. He didn't bolt it. Maybe you were thinking of the Gauntlet Direct, which he did bolt.

Anyway, seems like no one has done it yet.

Comments: A sit start to this may be possible, but very hard.

Comments: Does anyone know if the direct (or leftish) variation has been done yet? I tried it a while ago, it felt hard, at least .13d. I spent two hours on it and could only do half the moves, but maybe I was having a bad day....

Comments: Hmm... I'd have to say that the Quickening gets the honors for the easiest climbing on the wall.

Comments: The other day I was curious about trying the SSMFT thing, and I could not fully traverse the lip of the cave, in either direction. So my question is, how on earth is choss boss easier than the regular Barrio traverse?

Comments: I broke the starting hold off this route today. It was weird, the hold seemed totally solid every time I've been here until today. I don't think it changes the difficulty significantly, but I thought people might want to know.

EDIT: apparentely it's a bit harder if you are about 5'6 and can't reach the left hand pinch from the ground.

Comments: Whoa! Sorry for expressing an opinion! Look, I know it's not like people get to decide what the rock does; this isn't a gym. I fully respect everyone who spends the time, money, and energy to find and develop routes. This is a route that definitely deserved to be bolted, and I'm glad it was. However, I was simply giving my honest opinion of the route. It's obviously completely subjective, as many people seem to enjoy this route. If I had to rank all the 5.13s I've done, this on... more >>

Comments: This would get all four stars if it didn't have a big ledge in the middle. As it is, it might as well be done in two pitches to reduce rope drag, which is significant at the top. Really good climbing the whole way, especially the top part.

Comments: This route seems sandbagged. My friend Nick (who climbs .14b) took three tries to do this. He rarely takes more than two tries to send .13b.
