Comments: Hi Andrew,

Yes, serious. Sure, some guy will probably take the stuff down eventually, but in the meantime, it would help many people -- and perhaps help to form a more well-trodden trail after which bright tape is no longer needed.

Comments: So, it is along the trail to the Upper Town Wall, but before the fork that goes over to Blues. It might have been around the first clock-wise switchback (i.e., bending back right), but don't know.

This particular route used to stand out while walking the trail (left side, where all the rock is). Perhaps it has totally grown over?

Comments: It was dark when we did the route, and the lightening up of the shot turned it bluish.

Comments: No need to change any grades.
Mt. Project has switched to consensus ratings, with the original rating giving a little more weight. So, as more people vote on the rating, the less the original grade matters.

Comments: Thanks Calvin for the clarification.

It's nice knowing some of the history of a route as well, as you provided.

Comments: Looks fantastic, thanks for putting it up.

In the FA info, you have both a Jim and a Tyler Thompson. Same person? And what is the relation between the "established by" and the "FFA"?

Comments: I wonder who that "Don Stoddard" is in the FFA listing above. (I updated the info as per Geoff's comment above.)

Perhaps the author meant "John Stoddard" (who was quite actively doing new, hard ascents during that time)?

Comments: I remember it as 10b, but agree it is pretty pumpy at the end and would now rate it as hard 10.

Perhaps the thinking went (back "then") that it could not be hard 10 or easy 11 because it was all hand jams. And who can fall out of a hand jam?

Comments: Here's hoping that Mikey Cooter Headbanger leads a long one.

Reminds me of the Quin Konehead Prememorial route in Darrington. It was put up in ~1980 in 'prememorial' of Quin Koenig, who could climb 'up to 5.9' and soloed 5.9. But Quin is still around ~35 years later, though apparently got out of the soloing habit after one near-miss.

Comments: Ah yes, I had forgotten the source.

Reminds me that we have a Zappa Wall at Index, just now starting to get new routes after our first forays there in the early '80s.

Comments: Would the next guy please PLEASE take a roll of bright pink trail-marking tape and mark it enough that we can all find our way there in the dark?

It's getting exhausting just reading these comments...
(Thanks for helping though.)

Comments: Corner system about 30-feet left is Slow Children and Tommy's Sandbox.

Also, I wonder if these upper pitches are the same as those for City Park.

Comments: It looks very helpful, thanks.

You might try the topo app here on Mt. Project. It makes it easy to add in this info onto photos, and then gives viewers the option to turn the topo data off to reveal underlying rock features.

Comments: Nice picture.

For the topo, it is easy to add using the Mt. Project topo software. It allows the user to click the route lines on or off.

Photos like this help us find the routes. And this is one I'd like to try - I haven't done a hard offwidth in quite some time.

Comments: Thanks Nate.
Perhaps it is harder than V3. I haven't done much outdoor bouldering and was just guessing based on the conversion to YDS. It involves slopers, so might depend on the temperature and amount of lichen.

That's good to know about connecting with Little Fire.
