Comments: Great to hear.

My newly repaired knee ought to be good to go in time for the peak cleaning season (this coming winter), and with Derek back, we'll aim to hit this route right away.

Comments: Good point, Douglas.

An intermediate anchor also makes sense for the case like Sagittarius where it provides an easier route.
I remember that anchor, and also the way people got to the anchor was different back then -- we would do a hairy undercling out left on that thin flake, known as the 'ringing flake', and then grab the top edge of the flake.

Comments: So, as I remember it, the low anchor on Model W- is a holdover from the FA.

When we first did Model W-, there was a tree in the corner, which was part of the Frog Pond route. So, we just aimed for the tree, wrapped our slings over the tree and rapped off, calling the route finished. Later, the route was extended and the tree removed. I suppose someone tried to remain true to the original route when they placed the bolts there.

Sometimes I think that later parties try too hard to remain true ... more >>

Comments: Thanks Joshua.
You can suggest a rating. MP will give a weighted average to all ratings with the original rating having a larger weight. But with enough suggested ratings, the original will be overridden.

Comments: Thanks Geoff. Now updated.

The more history we have of a route, the better.

Comments: Definitely a free FA in my book.

Thanks for the explanation and history.

Did you place any 'trinkets' when going from Model Worker to Frog Prince?

Or are all trinkets for the Model Worker and Frog Prince sections/

Comments: Jeff Hebert's description from a second posting of this route:

A few bigger moves on large holds at the bottom gain a bulge before the character changes to more technical stemming and then slab at the very top.

Comments: Jeff Hebert's description and info from another posting of this route:

An intriguing, overhanging arete and dihedral combination, this climb starts up an easy fin ramp and then quickly enters some steep dihedral moves with smearing feet and laybacks which eventually bring you up and onto the final face. From high on the route, the view out to the West is pretty striking. The final series of moves is easier, but still thought provoking and airy.

Comments: Brown pee?

Water running down dirty ropes will do that. Oh well, if one is interested in fashion, I guess they should wear brown pants for route cleaning.

Comments: Looks wild. Fantastic job-

Pitch 5, I suppose you mean "flare layback", but I do like the sound of a layback with flair....rather makes me want to go out and do a stylish layback.

Despite that, I think the topo is also very well designed. Thanks for taking the time to make it.

Comments: You can get very good rests after the first and second set of anchors on Serendipity, which covers the hardest moves. So I think the rating of Hull Yeah should be the same as that of Serendipity. Seems more like 11b/c.
