I haven't been climbing a lot for several years. I took up disc golf, and I'm now playing PDGA tournaments when I can as a Pro Grandmaster.
I still fly fish a lot and I know the rivers here around Carbondale as well as any guide out there. I tie my own flies.
i play music for fun. Mandolin, Guitar, Bass, and I can play the fiddle and banjo a little bit. Good fun.
Climbing was my life for over 30 years. Needed a break ... but I'm not done yet. Haven't sold my gear or anything silly like that. Just taking a little time to "renew" my passion for the sport. As the Art Director for Climbing Magazine for 10 years ... I got kind of overloaded with the climbing scene and spent more time "working" than climbing. I'll be chilling a little longer ... but look forward to climbing again when the bug hits me.
I did make it out for a little ice climbing this winter ... I still think it is one of the most fun aspects of climbing and I really enjoy it. |
