Location: AZ : Sedona : Coffeepot Rock Area : Summit Block Rock : Dr. Rubo's Wild Ride (5.9) By: JimmyK When: Sep 1, 2009 | view comment >> | Comments: Watched out for the bees. On 09/01/2009, we were attacked by bees after we rappelled down from the top on our way to retrieve our packs at the start of the climb. The bees hive was located appx 50 yards down from the base of the rappel, along the edge of the rock face. There is an alternative path if you head out from the spire a bit and then down and around to the base of the climb. Awesome climb.

Location: NM : Santa Fe Area : Diablo Canyon : Sun Devil & Winter Wall : (09) Blind Faith (5.11a) By: JimmyK When: Feb 22, 2009 | view comment >> | Comments: I thought the crux was not at the top, but at the middle, about 75 feet up, going up and left at a roof instead of right. Nice route.

Location: NM : Percha Creek, Hillsboro By: JimmyK When: Feb 3, 2009 | view comment >> | Comments: 02/03/2009 - There is a nice bolted route (10d?) with a couple of roofs 10 feet left of The Nipple.
There are two bolted routes with shared anchors 10 and 14 feet left of Duck Soup. The first route is a challanging face climb, the second is a nice climb on the arete.
Note the picture taken on this page with a few black lines to show the routes.

There was a little bushwackin' but the approach was only 15 minutes from vehicle. Directions to Lower Devil Climbing area: From US 60, exit south on Oak Flat Road Campground road, travel 1.3 miles on paved road, take left on a gravel road. Drive about 2 miles on gravel road, at the bottom of the meadow, take a left at the old windmill (still there as of 01/17/09). Drive appx 1 mile to the road end. (Gravel road is rough, high... more >>
