Comments: The route left of Dilema is "God's Sad Cowboy" .11b, mostly bolted but when I last did it you would want some gear for the section above the roof. FA Nathan Smith, 2004.

Comments: This has cleaned up to be a very good route. Fun face climbing on good, featured rock. If you are looking for an easier 10a route up there I would recommend this. Great little belay spot right next to that big pine tree as an added bonus; take some beers, kick back and enjoy the Alta life.

Comments: Long, fun. Relatively clean and solid rock for a newer route. A 60M gets you up and down from a belay stance on that little ledge you scramble up to. It seems to me that a belay bolt up on that ledge, maybe between this route and Sinistar, would be handy. When climbing Sinistar I have belayed off the first bolt on that route, but that bolt looks like it has seen better days. Just a thought; anyone else like that idea?

Comments: My partner and I both really enjoyed this route. It seemed like this had more climbing and less scrambling than some of the other Devils Castle routes; on some sections you could almost say that the rock is pretty good. Pitch 2 is great, but there are good hard sections on several other pitches. Take some cams for sure for the pitch 3 crack; I think we placed #.75, 1, 2, and 3 camalots and an extra #1 or #2 would have been nice; it isn't that ha... more >>

Comments: Did this today; fun stuff, a worthwhile addition to Devils Castle. Thanks to the FA team for putting this up; that must have taken some time, effort and expense. Pitch 2 with that little chimney at the top and the final pitch up the arete were great. We took some gear but didn't end up placing any of it, the bolts and pins seemed adequate. The belays are fairly sheltered and we didn't see any natural rockfall, but there is plenty of loose rock so as always at the Castle w... more >>

Comments: The two other sport routes to the right and left of this one are good also; steep moves on good rock.

Comments: I thought this was very good for the grade. Big holds on excellent rock; consistent climbing. One of the best in Ferguson. Great for a warm-up.
