Comments: Good 1st pitch- crux was not too bad, a quick nut placement calmed me down... The belay station sucked- bail here and belay your second from the ground or continue up the blocky dihedrial.

Comments: Great route- The offwidth wasn't that bad, only a couple of moves and it's over. Found the thin traverse at the start of the last pitch to be the crux of the climb, good hands but bad feet for a couple of moves. The roof was very cool, easier than many 5.6 roofs I've been through in da' Gunks.

Comments: On the top 5 list of sandbagged climbs, the upper dihedral goes in the 5.8+ range.

Comments: Seems like a neglected climb, the start is a bit crappy, but working up the dihedral is grand- great stemming, didn't know I could do a split! Overall a good climb, anchor situation sucks at the top, typical.

Comments: I was sent out on a recon mission by Ladd; please let me know if I have confused myself with describing the photos. There are more climbs of questionable quality, be mindful of loose rock, it's Connecticut!

Comments: Good pro the whole way, anchor situation at the top can be dire (surprise). Be mindful of loose blocks on the right face on the top 1/4 of the climb, some came crashing down last season (Fall '07). No known injuries, just a sobering reminder that gravity sucks!

Comments: I love these NIMBY threads. Although I cringe when I see the crag filled with instruction groups, there is an advantage of them being guided. One would hope the guides / hosts would introduce and infuse the experience with leave no trace principles. There is no getting away from the crowds, period. As a responsible climber and an outdoors person, do your best to be a steward of the land and teach the newbies how to conduct themselves, don't throw rocks, threaten the leader and other BS I read ab... more >>
