Comments: Mighty fine route this one. Sure, rock can be a bit crumbly, but you get used to it climbing at Mendoza. Ain't no thing really. For my money, this is best route in the canyon.

Comments: This crag gets a bum rap in the guidebook, but it's a real nice, moderate, low elevation crag. It has a great view down onto Hairpin Canyon and for the life of me, I can't figure out what people mean by "not worth the approach". The approach is litterally 20 minutes, on a good trail. Sure, it's uphill, but come on people.
There are three routes on the upper tier. Two real nice 5.7's. The 5.10 is a little contrived in my opinion.

Comments: Great route. Probably more like a 5.9 at it's hardest. Far more interesting than Wiley. Access is still delicate, so please be extra conscientious out there, and follow all the posted rules.

Comments: A big walk from Happy Valley (took us four hours to Spud Rock Springs) leads to one of the prettiest camp sites on earth, a stone throw from the cliff. A bunch of great, big routes in a very remote setting, most under 5.10. Rock quality is excellent and gear is generally good.

Comments: Two pitches of varied and interesting climbing. Another good route (as yet unnamed) on the same formation makes the walk up almost worth it. For backcountry enthusiasts, with a taste for adventure.

Comments: Nice route. Someone replaced the two, old button heads with newer bolts. Too bad. It used to be more fun, and there is gear to be had, though it takes some fiddling.

Comments: This is a fun desert adventure on a seldom visited wall. Rock quality is generally good, but you want to test holds. Protects well, but you have to keep your eyes open. A few bolts here and there protect the scary parts. I recommend approaching from above and rapping to the base. Two of the five pitches are real gems.

Comments: The roof on this thing is a blast. The final 30'chimney is classic. Sling boulders to belay from tower top.

Comments: Huge fun. Sustained 5.9. Airy. Grainy footholds make it all the more interesting. Test your holds!
