Comments: Mark,
Shouldn't this be called The Ramp Area or some such thing? This whole Rudder thing is way confusing me thinks?? People know where the Ramp is...my 2 cents.
Take care.

Comments: Just climbed this on Saturday with Orlando.
I cleaned a bunch of crap out as it was pretty overgrown.
Somebody needs to go at this thing with a weed whacker!
Great route with good crack climbing and a rare Sandias chimney.
Didn't see a pin on the traverse but it's casual.
Get on it before that crap grows back.
You don't need a #4 btw...

Comments: Don't worry about the new gear guys.
Soon it will be all weathered out and shitty.
Remember, the FA had new gear...
Cycle of life.
New gear kicks ass...trust me.
If you want to climb some routes with truly shitty gear, I can set you up.

Comments: So that's what those bolts were...
Did this yesterday and was able to clean up some of the munge/dirt/trees/grass. The third pitch is pretty overgrown.
First pitch crux is a grunt...I had forgotten about that. Make sure to enjoy the second whining if they have a pack. :-)
Great pitch, fun day...except my buddy dropped my nut tool that I've had for almost 20 years...bummer.
Have fun!
Thanks for posting all the info John. See you around.

Comments: Keen,
I think I did it the original way a couple years ago...maybe..
Can't remember what the Hell I did tho...I remember aiding a short crack the trailing the rope up a ways...then I untied and soloed the summits...cruised around...had a couple beers in the shade.
Then as far as I remember I wrapped the rope around a big knob and rapped off of my first "pitch" solo anchor. Walked back over to the anchor and pulled the rope down (tons of drag, choss falling...the usual) and then cleaned my anc... more >>

Comments: Great route!
Me thinks it's a bit harder if you are short??
We did it in 2 pitches but you could do it in 3 if you wanted to.
You need about 12 draws or so and a couple long slings.
Anchors are cold shuts and the pulls are good.
The ledge on the top of the second pitch is AWESOME!!!!
Bring beer and hang out!

Comments: Not the North Face route. My buddy Joe and I did this route a couple years back.
The reason the angles are sticking out is that they were some sort of Cassin baby angle and they were a bit too big for the hole.
There are routes all over this thing.
We started on the other side, towards the right end of the formation and wound our way around the formation.
Didn't even know this thing had a name.
Good to do when you are drunk as it's a short hop from the parking lot. Fun stuff.

Comments: Great steep route! Props to Beyer!
Here is the rack we used:
- (1) set HB Offsets (could just use regular nuts) - (1) set Aliens or TCUs (down to blue if you are using Aliens) - (1) set Camalots to #4 (plus an extra #3 and #4 for the second pitch wide crack) - (8-10)#1 Peckers - (10-12)#2 Peckers - (10-12)#3 Peckers - (1)set arrows - (2)sets Zpins - (3) sets angles to #3( 2 #4 and 1 #5) - (1) set sawed offs

Comments: Did this the other day. Super cool and right by the trail. Don't bother bringing anything small. #1 - #3 Camalots would be nice. Maybe 2 #3 if you want to sew it up. Don't bother with a #4. Good rock except for the loose stuff.
