Comments: Why the Hell is everybody running around installing new rap anchors when old ones were just fine?

Oh...convenience...that's right...I forgot.

Lighten up with the drill out there...geez.

Not everything needs to be new anchors so you can rap it with a 70 meter for fucks sake.

Comments: What a drag...but not surprising.

Just a matter of time with the erosion, climbing and douchebag stunts as seen below.

Some dudes photo.
Some dudes photo.

Which one do you think caused the Cobra to collapse?

Seems to be a combo of all of the above me thinks.

This will all be a moot point when they close the joint due to some tard decking while BASE jumping AA or slacklining from the Titan to Lizard Rock...

Tick tock.

Comments: A buddy and I did what we think to be the second ascent of this years ago (10?).

Anyhoo, we did score 2 mint A5 beaks that were used for the anchor (Middendorf/Shipley). As I recall I was able to twist the cables and they just fell apart in my hand.

Might not be the second(not that it matters) but I would assume if somebody else was up there they would have scored those beaks.

Choss pile but cool summit and view.

Comments: All,

I have a classic story about this. Soloed this years ago thinking it was a new route as James had stated he had drilled a bolt for a solo anchor and I couldn't find one to save my life. Weird huh?

Anyhoo it way over 100 degrees outside...I get to the top totally delirious look everywhere for an anchor and can't find one. As I recall I had to do all sorts of shenanigans to find gear (no drill). So I clean my gear and go to rap off of the shorter side (not facing the road). I must have rapp... more >>

Comments: This is a cool 2 pitch (no bolts) variation that skips the first 3 pitches of the original Forest-Briggs bolt ladders.

Much more aesthetic in my opinion.

Super bitchin tower and KILLER summit.

Comments: Ditto Ben...just fucking with ya...kinda...cuz I know your combined "300" towers doesn't all look like this turd...I am gonna let it slide for now.

Next time it has to be more than 40 feet.

;-)

Have fun out there!

Comments: As far as I remember the harder line takes small offsets and small Aliens (black and blue) for weird horizontals and such. Super cool line on great rock. 3 stars for sure.

And no Eric...Lee and I didn't climb up there together...yet...

Comments: Good route...wonder who really did the first?

All pins seem pretty bomber (if old). Summit anchor is a bunch of "equalized" drilled pins and such. Seemed pretty good to me.

Good times!

Comments: BTW, pitch 4 requires some/a bunch of back cleaning of big cams.

We had a 4.5 Camalot and that was big enough. No #5 needed.

Comments: Cool route. 3rd pitch is crux at about A3(-)or so due to shitty rock.

Rest of route is A2 or easier. Another Beyer classic!

This is a great intro nailing route for the Fishers.

Comments: Some more info:

Pitch 1 is almost 190 feet long

Pitch 3 - I was able to skip both drilled hooks using #1 Peckers and those small Pika beaks (though the tips broke off of 3 when they were cleaned). I also skipped about 4 trenched heads with small kinda sketch Peckers. I think I places 4 heads on this pitch.

Pitch 5 - There is a ton of rope drag on this pitch...bring a bunch of long slings. Once you get the the anchor, step up, clip that bolt and work straight left into the Sundevil for a... more >>
