Comments: Climbed the falls on 11/28 in snowy conditions. The ice was in, but water was still flowing on the two outer flows, while the middle flow which we climbed was not running. This allowed for some good toproping on the bolts at the top. Give it another month or so to fully come in, but if your desperate for some sticks, this is your fix.

Comments: Damn. Who else looked at this photo and realized good descents in June are possible outside of A Basin? Oh wait, I forgot. It's just 8 miles to the Trough.

Comments: Pretty cool to finally see a problem like this fall to two people in the same day...must have been an extra high gravity day, but judging by the videos, these guys have earned it, nice work Jamie and Carlo. Its gonna be interesting to get Holloway's take on these ascents, especially if they slap a grade on it.

Comments: One problem (original or not, probably not) if you go from the start holds on the dyno (the lower start holds) and traverse up high to your left and climb up the slightly overhanging final prow (all the way across the lake side of this boulder). Probably about V5, but use your best guess, as I have only climbed to the prow, not completely up it. Don't know if anyone else has done this, but the traverses are probably the most challenging problems at this boulder.

Comments: Has anyone else wondered what inspired Robert Kelman to measure the approaches to several areas in furlongs?? When I wanted to go to Jurassic Park, the guidebook said to hike in 4 furlongs. I was baffled. For all of you that weren't around in the Dark Ages, including myself, a furlong is 660 feet, or 1/8 of a mile. It was used to measure the distance of crop rows plowed by oxen in medieval England. Why Kelman would choose this ancient measurement is beyond me. Does anyone else have an expl... more >>

Comments: Yeah, I guess I didn't expect to need two ropes on a 3 pitch 5.7. Maybe this could be a lesson for setting anchors. It just seems kinda ridiculous to lug 2 ropes up a 15 min. approach for a 400 foot climb. I realize it does speed things up, but I personally don't think it is worth the extra pack weight on this climb. I didn't see the need for 2 ropes because this climb is pretty much a straight shot, and I didn't experience any excessive rope drag. Just my 2 cents, don't want to start a war... more >>

Comments: The rappels on this climb are confusing. I rappelled from the anchors at the top and couldn't reach the next set of anchors (the painted ones 1/2 way up) with a 60m rope. So, I tried from the anchors in the cave ledge 20m down from the top. I was still 30' short. We rapped to the end of the rope and ended up traversing about 50' R to another set of anchors. From here we made 2 more raps down. On every anchor (we hit four of them), there was some kind of bail gear, which led me to believe o... more >>

Comments: Yeah, 6 bucks to get into the park (rotary park) each time is ridiculous. They want you to pay $65 for a year pass! It is not even a state park! There is so much better climbing at Horsetooth, and best of all, it's FREE!!!! (i.e. torture chamber, piano ridge, duncan's ridge)

Comments: Not much ice yet, just a little on one of the middle pitches, but snowfields are in all the way.
