Comments: Sweet! That's awesome Travis. As far as I know, yours is the first successful lead of the second "pitch". It has been successfully TR'd but I'm pretty sure nobody's led it. I'd say yours is a legit FA. Congrats!

Saying that… The original equipers intended for 'Echoes' to be a one pitch climb from the water to the top. The reason it's called Echoes "Extension" is because they could'nt’t finish it in one go… They put anchors in at the halfway point (just before "The Business" starts) in order t... more >>

Comments: Finally led this last week. It's ALL about the Left foot... AWESOME route! Got cleaned up a bit since Dave's FFA so it's less shattered and chossy at the bottom, a tad easier and has MUCH better gear. Highly recommended!

Comments: I also wanted to add my name to the list of contacts for beta/info. Dave and I are the main activists here recently (along with Jeremy Schlick and Seth Dyer but they have moved to less topographically challenged locales). Please feel free to e-mail us through the "Contact" link on the personal page of this website.

Comments: That's the Rick we all know and love. Mr. sour grapes (grin). I hear ya on Poseidon being a higher quality route. No debate there but I think the "enthusiasm" for Gunfight comes from the fact that it is a well protected route at a moderately "hard" grade. It's the only 5.11- at P-head that most climbers who's maximum current ability is 5.11 can onsite. Poseidon is well harder and the pro is not that great, therefore it doesn't get led very much. When it does it is almost always done by climbers ... more >>

Comments: Yeah, I'm a collector of quirky and sometimes disturbing climbing humor. I'd say both apply to the Clucking skit... By the way, I do not condone Clucking in public although I don't think it's wrong or anything. Just keep it to yourselves and be sure to wear the appropriate safety equipment.

My favorite line is: "We are climber who F*%<, -not- F*$<ers who climb". Absolutely classic...

Comments: Nice Job Darin! Strong OS (possible first OS?) in "less than ideal" conditions (had to wait out rain at the half-way ledge then continue with slightly moist holds...). Twas an honor holding the rope fo ya!
