Comments: Bad Crack is just that, the bad, wide crack. Before the recently bolted sport lines, there was only Bad Crack, it began on the face to the right or in the big crack. If you climbed the face, you would ascend until you could comfortably join the crack about 10/15 feet up. It continues on to the top of the buttress where you can build an anchor and walk off/rap.

Recent entries have been added to clear up some of the confusion. It looked as though the two updated bolted lines were entered under t... more >>

Comments: Christopher-

Thanks you for the recent contributions, but please consider our aim is quality route descriptions that go beyond the guidebook. I believe Josh's comment is sincere, and all he is doing is asking you for more usable information. My intent here is not to single you out, but ask that all contributors to Montana, if you are not already, to step it up. A majority of the regular users here do an excellent job and put a lot of energy into their work. The site is not perfect, and every e... more >>

Comments: clean, brilliant, climbing up great rock. completely independent of it's neighbors, this well-engineered line really compliments the area. if you like the style of climbing at the glass ocean, i'd highly recommend this. bring at least 12 draws/slings, i had 4 slings which helped cut down the obvious areas of drag.

Comments: "This has to be one of the best, if not the best, of the Contor-Taylor teamís routes in BCC."

you can take J.S. out of bcc, but you can't take the bcc out of J.S.

Comments: the spiral starts in the dihedral just right of cardiac arete (fully bolted arete) on the left side of the crag. climb the dihedral, pull the little roof and aim up and right for the notch. climb right and around the back of the pillar. follow/spiral around to the obvious crack and weakness. end on top at an anchor. single rack and slings, you may want a couple extra hand pieces

Comments: as josh said, please do not enter routes on here unless you have climbed them and can speak from experience. we can all guestimate from the base, its actual experience that makes entries helpful.
