Comments: Was there yesterday and no tree blocking the road. Some big ruts in places, but any high clearance vehicle should be fine.

Comments: Hey b, glad you liked this thing! I remember being pleasantly surprised how good this route turned out. Long and pumpy in the upper crack section. We never named it, but it really does deserve one - seeing that it is 50' from the road, let's call it Roadside Attraction. One minor correction, the Wayne on the FA team is my good friend Wayne Smith. I have never had the pleasure of putting up a route with Mr. Montoya, maybe someday.

Cheers

Comments: Amazing climb! Continuous moves on solid stone, there are good shake outs between the harder sections. Don't miss it if you are in the area.

Comments: Nice shot, Hunter, but that is the north side of Turkey Tail. Looks like a perfect day at Turkey Rocks!

Comments: At 5'7", I couldn't reach the third bolt off the ledge. Made for an exciting move to get there. Fun climb with neat moves through the dihedral section.

Comments: Anchors are currently just hangers, I plan on adding some quicklinks soon. Bring some links if you get there before I do.

Comments: FA - Glenn Schuler. I put this one up shortly before the Sheriff's Dept. ran everyone off for the last time and shut us down for climbing there anymore. At least one crucial hold broke off - the potato chip undercling that was at the horizontal break about halfway up. If anyone wants to reposition the bolts to improve the route, go for it. Not sure who came up with the name, I never named the route.

Comments: Edit: Justin, your first post made it sound like you did the mortaring. If you say you didn't do it, I take you at your word, my apologies. I was just voicing my opinion that using mortar for climbing rocks is complete BS (as is chiseling). Carry on.

Comments: Just to update the anchor situation, a new shared anchor was added for this route and River Dance. A 60m rope is plenty.

Comments: Now that's a FIRE! I was at Shelf that day and saw the huge, black smoke plume and thought WTF is going on over there? If I remember right, dameeser said it was an electrical fire.

Comments: If you were using Jason's new book, I see how you would do that. I just noticed he shows FF stopping short at the Chocolate Thunder anchors. If you stop there, you'll miss out on one of the coolest parts of the route, IMO.

Comments: I always thought the last 20' of the route stepping off the mini-ledge at the dead tree to the top was a bit heady. Face moves to flaring finger crack with a not-so-great small cam for pro.

Comments: Nice long pitch with fun climbing. Squeeze chimney at the top (not an OW) is a cool change of pace for Shelf.
