Comments: there is a horizontal pod about 15 feet up that eats a yellow c3 perfectly, makes the lead pretty safe.

Comments: Thats what I thought, it felt like the harder part was squeezing the seam and slopers before the jug. Didn't really feel like hitting the crimp was hard other than how far away it looks when your hanging there.

Comments: Does it matter which crimp is used to pull the lip on this guy, I used the one to left of the one that people are using in pictures. The one I used is basically straight up from the first sloper that your heel is on when you hit the big horn.

Comments: I was recently in touch with the park manager at High Cliff and found out that the park is a designated state natural are which means that no alteration to the rock is allowed so no bolting is allowed anywhere in the park.

Comments: not sure of the grade but i know it is very height dependent, reachy moves half way up, where did you start on it? i started in the crack just left of the arete and moved out on to the arete about three feet up.

Comments: Climbed this route with a sds using underclings andthen working the big "Shark Fin" as we called it. finished on the arete for the top out. fun moves along that big fin really forces body tension and good static moves.

Comments: I have not been to the reserve before but I will be sure to check it out soon. It would be nice to set up some test bolts somewhere to find out what would work best. Could you pm with anymore information you might think usefull, and id like to get a copy of your guide.

Comments: Has anyone ever contacted the DNR to see if it would be ok to bolt lines here. I think that alot of the routes could be climbed more safely with bolts and even open up options where a TR is hard or impossible to set. Just a question this is not something that I would think about doing if it was not allowed.

Comments: I am confused at the state of affairs of this climbing area, it says that the use of fixed protection is prohibited does this mean that no more bolts can be placed or that people cant use existing bolts??? as far as the other bluff goes is climbing allowed at all or is it closed??? they way the description is written seems to gives an impression that its a locals only crag and that all others should not attend?? whats the story here???

Comments: AS far as the rock quality goes I had a question about the lower faces on waht i think would be the north west face of the ridge (opposite end that the trail comes in with a fence near the rocks) is any of this good for bouldering?? most of it looked rather brittle and never cleaned. Is any of it solid???

Comments: What kind of condition are the bolts in currently, have any of the bolts broken or pulled out since they were initially placed. I would love to get on some of these routes but im a little concerned of the age of the hardware.

Comments: last summer i was climbing a route that i think was just to the left of this, started sitting in the middle of the slab both hands on a big pinch and then stood up to stick a large undercling after that some small side pulls. i ended up working the left arete to get to the top but was wondering if the route was established and if anyone could tell me the name and or rating????
