Comments: Anybody know who bolted the line?
And is this line actually worth projecting - my meaning being whether or not it's a choss pile or not?
It would be nice to have a good .13 20 minutes from GJ to play around on.

and how high off the deck is it before you get to the first bolt?

Comments: There are always the disrespectfuls out there - nothing we can do about it. The area is bound to get a little tore up, but I think it's cool that you guys are making an effort to bring about some kind of an awareness about the delicate environment. Cheers!

I was up in Chaos about a month ago, and one thing that I noticed is that people are using the climber trails way to much. I know the hike is long and that last uphill stretch, with gear and a crashpad, will wear your arse out, but we need to... more >>

Comments: For all you haters:

Unaweep Canyon is not one big choss pile - the entire area is untapped. The reason you dont see badass higher grade routes is because no one has gone out and sent them.

I've come across some badass, unsent lines lately and all they needed was a brush.

If there is one area in Colorado that hasn't been thoroughly scoured, it's Unaweep.

Comments: A somewhat crucial hold broke off yesterday right before the 3rd bolt.

If you know the route - at the 3rd bolt, where you clip at a big pocket... the move letting you trunk twist into that hold came off.

The move is still do-able, but setting up to get into that nasty pocket is more difficult. Possibly upgrading the route to a .13-

Comments: Possibly a harder variation to this route.

Sit start farther down, instead of at the rail.

Probably the more pure line....

Comments: Recently updated the grade to a harder degree, after a consensus from some buddies and the fact that it couldnt be an 11 when it was harder, and considerably pumpier than Big Fat Weiners

Comments: This route is tricky... The first section is really fun. Leading up to a no hands rest on a shelf. Then into the crux section which is very defined and technical as shit. Pulling over the second lip is actually kinda hard. Harder than .12a anyway....

The crux is 2 underclings out to a odd 3 finger crimp and a throw to a sloping ledge.. Pulling up and through to some hard to find crimps and its pretty much over.

Not a bad lead though... really fun. I ticked this route yesterday after my second... more >>

Comments: I love this area!! One of the best hikes in Grand Junction already... topped with some awesome granite sport climbing. A+, hard and pumpy, guaranteed to get you stronger. Very athletic climbing... There are also more routes that have been put up, and Im planning on making an effort to get these routes up with pics and a little better diagram of the routers on the wall.

Comments: So, if you're climbing this guy (which you most likely will if you make the hike out here), be careful when coming down from the route. I would suggest bringing a figure 8 up to the chains with you and rapping off.. since there is a lot of slag and a sharp rock that will (no joke) slice your rope in half if you're not careful.
